Digital Stories
SIDS Calgary Society partnered with Melody Williamson, MSc., a Certified Digital Storytelling Facilitator, to support eight bereaved parents in co-creating digital stories that reflect meaningful moments in their healing journey following the loss of a child to SIDS/SUDC. Each 3–5 minute video is narrated in the parent's own voice, sharing their personal experience from their unique perspective. The collaborative process of creating these stories has been a meaningful part of each parent's healing journey, providing an opportunity for reflection, connection, and personal expression.
Content Advisory
These digital stories share the personal experiences of parents who have lost a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). While the stories focus on each parent's healing journey rather than the details of their child's death, they may evoke strong emotions or bring up difficult memories for some viewers.
We encourage you to watch these stories at a time and in a setting where you feel supported. If you find the content emotionally challenging, consider taking a break or reaching out to someone you trust for support.
We hope these stories offer comfort, connection, and hope to those navigating their own grief journey.
